Middle Assembly Canada equips churches, supports pastors and joins God's mission in our unique Canadian context.

Mobilizing for Mission Fund

The Mobilizing for Mission Fund exists to prepare and provision the people and churches of our region for mission. It is funded by donations from churches and individuals, and helps turn God's call and our dreams into reality.

"...to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ." (Ephesians 4:12)

Pastor Care and Benefits

Health benefits. Health benefits for pastors and staff of member churches are offered through Canada Life. [Draft: confirm provider under MAC; benefit booklets to be uploaded.] Manage your account at Canada Life.

Sabbaticals. Renewal of a congregation most often blossoms from the renewal of its pastor. We encourage churches to grant pastors regular sabbaticals for reflection, rekindling the spirit, and deepening spiritual life and family relationships.

Mental health. Resources for clergy and congregations, including free phone counselling for RCA clergy through Pine Rest, and mental fitness tips from the Canadian Mental Health Association.

Personal development. RCA leadership collaboratives and Find a Coach.

Missions

Peace International School, Nyanza, Rwanda. Founded by Denis and Dative Mugabo after the genocide, the school now serves about 320 students and opened its high school in February 2024. Since 2022, Canadian churches have sponsored 23 students. It costs about $600 a year ($50 a month) to sponsor a student, including uniform and a hot lunch. Learn more. Restorations, Burlington, Ontario. RCA Global Mission missionary Jennifer Lucking serves with Restorations, which supports survivors of sexual exploitation and human trafficking through long-term housing at Nancy's House, survivor-led peer programming and holistic care. Learn more.

Peace and Justice

Indigenous ministries and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. The TRC's 94 Calls to Action include #48 and #49, which speak directly to churches and faith communities. Ways to respond:

  • Support the Athabasca Reformed Congregation's ministry at Calling Lake.
  • Discuss residential school history, the TRC and the Calls to Action with your church.
  • Include prayers in worship for Indigenous communities.
  • Start a book club, for example on The Inconvenient Indian (CRCNA resource).

Refugees. World Renew's refugee sponsorship resources and stories of Canadian RCA churches supporting refugees.

Multiplication

God is building his church across Canada through new church plants, including Portuguese, Spanish and Korean-speaking congregations in Ontario and Quebec, and a First Nations church plant at Calling Lake, Alberta. [Draft: current list of plants and multiplication team to be confirmed.]
